Mbappe: Being the most expensive player in the world doesn't go to my head

Kylian Mbappe has never been fazed by being the world's most expensive footballer.

In joining Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in 2017, Mbappe became the most expensive transfer in history, but he had since gone on to win several trophies with PSG and become a World Cup winner with France.

"It doesn't go to my head," Mbappe told TF1. "It's not money that goes into my pocket, and I don't think about it.

"I enjoy myself every day and I know that I'm very lucky. All I want to do is to win. I'm happy with my life. Sometimes I'd like to have a calmer one, but that's the way it is. There are positives and negatives, but I'm happy."

Mbappe will play alongside Real Madrid's Karim Benzema at this summer's European Championship, and quite possibly in the future in Spain, after the No.9 was given a surprise call-up by Didier Deschamps. Undoubtedly one of the favourites for the tournament, Mbappe has his sights set on success.

"We're going with the dream of winning," Mbappe said. "We're going to give everything and hopefully we'll come back with the trophy.

"It's always nice to have all of France behind us."

While also keen to take part in France's squad at the Olympic Games, the Ballon d'Or is also something that motivates Mbappe, but he knows that team success comes before individual honours.

"The collective comes first," Mbappe said. "It's a team sport.

"But it's clear that the Ballon d'Or is always a dream for any player, but it's not the most important thing."
