Medeama coach Carlos Roberto Paulette believes his side deserve praise despite failing to reach the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Mauve and Yellows beat AC Leopards 2-0 at the Sekondi Stadium and tied 2-2 on aggregate but they were knocked out 5-4 on aggregate.

Paulette, who watched from the stands due to a CAF ban after getting sent off in the first leg, was delighted with the performance of the team and not the score line.

“I am proud of the players. We wanted to win the game and we were able to win it,” the Peruvian said.

“But unfortunately we have been eliminated on penalty shootout.”

“Nevertheless, we have lived to our objectives since penalty shootout could go to either side.”
