Medeama destroy Jets to revive campaign

Medeama recovered from their mid-week defeat to brush aside Mighty Jets 3-0 at the Essipong Stadium on Sunday. 

All three goals of this were scored in the first half with Sampson Cudjoe scoring the opener on 19 minutes.

Nana Yaw Afriyie scored his first goal of the season with a cracking effort on 32 minutes before Jacob Apau sealed the victory for the Tarkwa-based side.

It was a game that saw Bashir Hayford's side go on a scoring spree in the first half scoring three classy goal as Mighty Jets offered little in threat in attack.

Ghana Under-20 player Jacob Apau proved efficient on the right, creating numerous problems for the visitors.

Mighty Jets losing all points in this particular fixture started becoming clearer after the tenth minute.

Apau raced clear of his marker before delivering a tailored cross for Sampson Cudjoe to head the ball past the Jets keeper for the opener.

Medeama continued their dominance cutting the Mighty Jets midfield into bits.

Even when Jets tried to prevent Medeama from stretching passes together, there were still option for their host to exploit their weakness.

Nana Yaw Afriyie got Bashir Hayford out of the dug-out punching the air in celebration when he fired a long-range drive home to make it 2-0.

The influential Apau made it 3-0 after a sublime move from the right.

Jets took charge of play after recess but were unable to reduce the deficit before the game ended.

But there was still time for Sumaila Atia to canon a drive off the crossbar.
