Medeama SC Board Chairman Dr. Tony Aubynn has stated that the club is aiming to return to Africa next season by winning the Ghana Premier League again.
The Yellow and Mauves competed in their first-ever CAF Champions League competition last season, reaching the group stage but failing to progress.
However, the club was unable to defend the title it won two seasons ago or win the Ghana FA Cup, which would have allowed them to return to Africa.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League kicked off three weeks ago, and with Medeama playing at the renovated TNA Stadium, Aubynn emphasized that their goal is to win the title and return to Africa.
“Definitely having a standard stadium is good for our team. We are hoping to take every advantage to improve our performance,” he told Citi Sports.
“We have challenged ourselves this time around again to win the league and then go to Africa again.
“We are very sure that if we had our stadium during the previous season, we would have actually done much better. I think we will be motivated, and we are motivated.”
Medeama sit top of the Ghana Premier League after winning their opening two games but will not play this weekend because their opponent Nsoatreman are involved in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.
