Meeting between Pogba and Al-Khelaifi triggers rumours of move to PSG

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi met with Paul Pogba in France recently, sparking rumours of a potential summer move to the Ligue 1 giants.

With Pogba's contract at Manchester United set to expire in the summer and no sign of the midfielder putting pen-to-paper on a new deal, his exit appears ever more likely.

Money is certainly not an issue for PSG, and they have made a recent habit of snapping up top players on free transfers with their ability to offer top contracts.

Sergio Ramos, Leo Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum all arrived on free transfers last summer with their deals having expired with their respective clubs.

PSG would not be alone in their pursuit of Pogba, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus all being linked as well.

Yet their financial muscle would put them in the driver's seat, and a return to his native France is likely to entice Pogba into such a switch.

Los Blancos have long been linked with Pogba, particularly during Zinedine Zidane's two spells with the club, but Manchester United's elevated demands over a transfer fee had ruled them out at each attempt.

Even on a free, Madrid might not be as willing to do business with Mino Raiola for his client, with Florentino Perez's transfer policy having switched to a focus on youth.
