Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku has disclosed that he had to emulate a skill from Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi when he scored his second goal against Liberty Professionals on match week eight of the Ghana Premier League.

The former Nkoranza Warriors striker scored a brace in the game to increase his tally to five goals in six games in the ongoing season.

Speaking at the post-match conference after the game he said, “I have been watching videos especially those of Lionel Messi.

“I think it’s one of the goals that he usually scores so I think I will give him the credit.

“I always watch him and that is what happened today”, he added.

The Porcupine Warriors put up perhaps their best display of the season which takes them up to 6th place on the Ghana Premier League log.

Asante Kotoko travels to face WAFA in their next Ghana Premier League game at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.
