Lionel Messi has come out and praised Rafael Nadal after the Spaniard won the 2020 Laureus prize for best sportsman of 2020.
The Argentine spoke of how he has always respected the tennis star.
"A more than deserved prize," said Messi.
"You're an example to everyone, I'm a big admirer".
Nadal beat Lewis Hamilton, Armand Duplantis, Lebron James, Joshua Cheptegei and Robert Lewandowski to claim the award which he also won in 2011.
He also picked up Breakthrough of the Year in 2006 and Comeback of the Year in 2014.
