French Ligue 1 side FC Metz are desperately waiting for Ghana defender John Boye to sign a new contract.

John Boye's contract with the club expires in June 2021 and the club offered him a new contract at the end of last month.

However, the 34-year-old is yet to sign the deal leaving the Maroons anxious.

The FC Metz captain has from now till June 30th to decide whether to extend his stay or move on for a new adventure.

"He must make his choice before June 30. He's still showing good things at 34, he's a player we need. He can be part of the project, a proposal has been made to him. It has its place with us," said Metz manager Frederic Antonetti early this month.

John Boye has been a mainstay in the team this season, featuring in 34 Ligue 1 games, scoring a goal, and providing two assists.

The Ghana international returned to France in 2018 after three seasons in Turkey with Sivasspor.
