MIDDLESBROUGH - Doubts about Karanka\'s future

Published on: 12 March 2016

It is uncertain whether Aitor Karanka is going to stay on as manager of Middlesbrough. The club issued a comuniqué stating that Karanka had not taken charge of Saturday's training, ahead of the club's Sunday fixture in London, against Charlton. Steve Agnew, Karanka's assistant, will be in charge of the Middlesbrough team at Charlton's ground, The Valley.

We believe that the fans should know all the details, but the club is not going to say any more as we are concentrating on the game against Charlton", the comuniqué ended. In the last few hours there has been speculation about the future of Karanka, who arrived at Middlesbrough's Riverside ground in November 2013.

According to the BBC, Karanka wants to leave the club and they are trying to persuade him to stay at the helm. Sky Sports reports that Karanka had a talk with his players and told them he was not going to continue as manager.
