Middlesbrough, Reading, PAOK FC, and Augsburg have all approached Chelsea about signing Ghana left-back Baba Abdul Rahman.

These clubs value Baba and are willing to meet Chelsea's demands to sign the 27-year-old, who has made over 40 appearances for Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars.

Ghanasoccernet.com can report Middlesbrough monitored Rahman closely during the 2021/22 season and were impressed with his performances for Reading FC.

Rahman was key in Reading avoiding relegation, and the Royals want him back in their ranks for the 2022/23 season, as they aim to secure Premier League football.

Baba spent the second half of the 2020/21 season with PAOK in Greece, where he helped the club win the Greek Cup. They were unable to secure another loan last season, but they have returned for him.

The former Asante Kotoko full-back has also previously played for Augsburg in Germany. During his time there, he made an impression, prompting Chelsea to pay more than £20 million to sign him.

Rahman made 108 tackles for Augsburg in 2014–15, more than any other player in the Bundesliga at the time. Using his strength and speed, he was able to win 90 of those tackles, for an 83% successful tackle rate. Rahman also had 83 interceptions and won 80 contested aerial balls that season.

Augsburg have made contact with Chelsea in order to relive their spectacular partnership with Baba.

According to Transfermarkt, Rahman is worth €2.20 million, but Chelsea are expected to demand more after Baba signed a three-year contract extension last year.

Baba played 2581 minutes in the English Championship last season, earning an overall rating of 6.7 on whoscored.com. Baba had a 74.2% pass success rate, 1.5 AerialsWon, and one assist.
