Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dedicated Wednesday's victory over Togo to Ghana fans and hopes it will appease them.

The 23-year-old headed home the second goal at the Stade de Kégué as the Black Stars resisted a late fightback from the Hawks to nick a narrow 3-2 victory in Lome.

Ghanaian fans thronged the stadium and cheered on the team when they fell to a Floyd Ayite early goal but as the Udinese star reckons, the travelling fans stuck behind the team and cheered them on to victory.

“I dedicate this win to our fans because they really helped us today and we appreciate it. There was a lot of pressure on the team and it became harder when we conceded the first goal but the fans who came kept on cheering us on and it worked,” Badu said during the post-match presser.

The victory has ensured Ghana stay in second place to leaders Uganda but are tie on points though the Cranes have a better goal aggregate.

Saturday's turnout at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi was mixture of jeers and boos against the Black Stars following their abysmal showing in Brazil and Badu admitted their disappointment in Brazil.

"We know we disappointed the fans at the World Cup but we want them to forgive us and let's move forward as Ghanaians. It's the interest of our country that counts and I believe we all want to qualify and hopefully go on to win the tournament. It's more than what our fans deserve."
