Midfielder James Akaminko leaves AshantiGold SC after contract expiration

AshantiGold SC and midfielder James Akaminko have parted company following the expiration of the player's contract.

Akaminko's three-year stints with the Gold and Black outfit came to end last month following the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season.

AshantiGold management have tried to lure the talented midfielder to sign a new deal with the club but the player has refused as he eyes a move elsewhere.

Akaminko during his spell with the Miners was a key member of the team in the Ghana Premier League and in last season's CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The former Medeama SC and Tema Youth FC has already send a come-and-get-me plea to Asante Kotoko who are interested in landing him.

Akaminko was part of the Ghana team that finished as runners-up in 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal.
