A second half strike from striker Abubakar Sidi ensured Mighty Jets pipped a ten-man Liberty Professionals side 1-0 in Accra on Thursday to move from the drop.

The midfielder swept home a screamer twelve minutes after the interval to claim all three points for the Tudu-based side.

Jets briefly threatened before the break as Tamimu Muntari tried his luck at goal with a ferocious drive.

Liberty enjoyed some exciting moments but failed to make it productive as Michael Helegbe and Foda Moussa both coming close.

Jets appeared rejuvenated and penetrated the Liberty half with some sense of urgency.

Christopher Nkansah had his marching orders on the hour mark when he was sent off for a second bookable offends.

Jets capitalized on numerical advantage to score the opener five minutes later.

Kofi Owusu broke free from midfield before setting up Abubakar Sidi who rocketed home the game's only goal.

Liberty Professionals tried to forge home the equaliser but Helegbe missed from close range.

Substitute Fuseni Zuberu was contained by the Jets defence.
