Mihajlovic: AC Milan never looked like conceding against Fiorentina

Published on: 17 January 2016

AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was very satisfied after his side beat Fiorentina 2-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Serie A.

Carlos Bacca and Kevin-Prince Boateng were both on the score-sheet to give the Rossoneri a massive win to move up the table into sixth.

“Apart from Juventus and Napoli we’re fighting with everyone else,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“I am very satisfied.

“We were barely at risk of conceding and as such our defensive display was a positive to take from this match.

“We won deservedly to end the week on a high.

“I thank president [Silvio]  Berlusconi too, as he was able to say the right words at the right time for the team.”

Milan now move within three points of Luciano Spalletti’s Roma.

“We still have a lot to play for as a team,” Mihajlovic added.

“As I stated, apart from Juventus and Napoli, we are right alongside the others.

“I hope we can have a better second half to the season than the first.

“This team has grown a lot since the first part of the season.

“More possession is key though, so there is still work to be done.”

Mihajlovic’s Milan next game is away at Empoli on Saturday night.
