Milan boss wants improved Boateng for heightened team responsibilities

AC Milan coach Massismiliano Allgeri expects a vast improvement of Kevin-Prince Boateng given his added team responsibilities this season.

The Ghanaian is most likely to partner Brazilian Alexandre Pato in Milan’s attack this term following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to French big spenders PSG.

Boateng who was originally brought in two-seasons ago as a midfielder is thus expected to increase his goalscoring rate as the Rossoneri looks to reclaim the Scudetto from rivals Juventus.

And Allegri who aims to make the former Germany youth international a fundamental figure in his team this season says the 25-year-old must step up to the plate.

"This is a fundamental year for Pato and Boateng,” he said.

"Pato and Boateng have to take the definitive step up in quality, and having more responsibility will be good for both of them."

Milan are currently touring the US in preparations for the start of the Serie-A season where they will kick start their campaign at home to Sampdoria on August 28.
