Milan could ask Rebic to 'lower his salary of €3m per year' for permanent move

After a slow start to the season, Ante Rebic has become an important player for AC Milan. With six goals in his last seven league games, the Rossoneri are likely to start negotiations with Frankfurt this summer over a permanent move.

According to today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive.it), despite the imminent revolution for Milan in the summer, Rebic wants to remain at the club. In fact, he feels happy for the time being.

The winger arrived on a two-year loan last summer, meaning his spell at the Rossoneri will come to an end in 2021. However, keeping him for one more year could result in the price tag increasing. Therefore, negotiations could start already this summer.

Per the same newspaper (via Calciomercato.com), though, CEO Ivan Gazidis could ask Rebic to lower his current salary of €3m per year. Of course, this would put the move at risk, especially considering how well the Croatian has done since January.
