Minister unaware of Black Stars World Cup money

Sports Minister Kofi Humado is completely unaware of the $11m money given Ghana for excelling at the 2010 World Cup.

Fifa gave the money to the Ghana FA following the Black Stars quarter final march at the World Cup in South Africa but had it diverted to government coffers after the states insistence.

However with over a year after the mundial, no one including the sector minister knows the whereabouts of the cash.

“I am not too sure of what you are talking about,” the Anlo MP told Takoradi-based Melody FM.

“I know that they (Ghana FA) have undertaken Fifa Goal projects of which I even cut the sod for one so I am not sure of the $11m you are talking about.

“I would have to check on that information and soon let you know.”

The money was initially proposed to be used to build a three-star hotel during the period Akua Sena Dansua was the minister.

However as it appears, no one is able to tell where the money is being lodged for know.
