Ghana U-23 defender Kingsley Fobi has said missing out on qualification to the Tokyo Olympic Games was one of the most difficult moments in his life as a footballer.

The Black Satellites missed out on qualification for the Olympic Games after finishing fourth at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt last year.

Fobi missed a penalty in the third-place playoff against South Africa as Black Satellites missed on the last qualification ticket.

"It was one of my difficult moments. It was very difficult because the goal was to qualify for the Olympics and we could not achieve that," Fobi said in an Instagram Live interview with Joy Sports' Owuraku Ampofo.

"When we went to the dressing room, the players were crying, coaches were crying. I mean we were all sad but when you look at it right now there is nothing you can do so you have to keep moving. You learn from the mistake and keep on improving.

At the end of the day, we are still young. We have lots of games to play and a big future as well as we can't keep on thinking about what has happened in the past."

The games scheduled for this summer has been postponed to next year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
