Modest expectations for Nania in Confederations Cup

Progress of Nania FC in the Confederations Cup will only be a bonus according to club President Abedi Pele.

The Division One club qualified for the second tier African club tournament through winning Ghana’s FA Cup competition.

Their performance throughout the FA Cup competition was that impressive that talks suggesting they are capable of winning the Confed Cup are already ongoing but Pele harbours modest expectations of his side.

“We are just like any club that has qualified for the first time to a prestigious competition,” he told Takoradi-based Melody FM.

“We don’t expect to win it because we want to enjoy playing in the competition but if it comes along, why not, we will take it.”

Nania’s historic feat in the FA Cup won Abedi Pele the Best Coach and most of his players swept the awards at the competition’s awards night earlier in the year.
