Mohammed Kudus proved his status as a 'world class talent'- Ex-Dutch footballer van Halst

Former Dutch Footballer Jan van Halst says Mohammed Kudus is a world class talent following his outstanding performance in the UEFA Champions League against Rangers.

The 22-year-old scored his first ever goal in the competition as Ajax thumped Rangers 4-0 at the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday.

The former Nordsjaelland star proved why he deserved a starting place in the team with his man of the match performance.

Jan van Halst who was on commentary duties at the game confirmed Mohammed Kudus as a world class talent with his performance in the game.

Commenting on the performance of the Ghana international after the game on his network he said, "Alfred Schreuder did stand along the line, but he could also have stayed in the dugout, because it just went tactically,"

"Kudus kept sinking, to get to the ball. That boy did a fantastic job. Rangers was not good, but you have to pick it up too. We were all the way in the front row, and then you really see how fast he turns and sprints away. Pooh, he really confirmed it: a world talent." Kudus' stats speak for themselves, too: 26 of his 26 passes arrived, making him the only man on the pitch with 100 percent passing accuracy.

This may create a new luxury problem for Schreuder, who had Brian Brobbey start on the bench. "A luxury problem yes, but how good is luxury?", says Van Halst.

"That's excellent. You know at a top club like Ajax that there is a need to rotate every now and then. A few weeks ago, Steven Berghuis was sitting on the bench with such a face. As Schreuder and the entire staff, you have to do that. Tonight he was one of the stars again."

As said, Maduro is deeply impressed by Kudus, who completed a long dribble in the first half with a beautiful diagonal shot that went in from the inside of the post.

"He was so good," said Maduro.

"He scored a world goal of course, but other than that: he was everywhere in midfield, and also impresses with his dribbles. In the second half he also had a dribble where he passed two or three men. With his movement he sowed confusion in the center defenders: should we cover, or should we still stand? If one person decides to cover, there will be another gap at the central defenders, Ajax was just very good at that."
