Mohammed Polo claims current Under-20 team players cannot play for the Black Stars

Ghana legend Mohammed Polo claims the current U20 team, who will play in the African Championship final on Saturday,  must forget about progressing to the Black Stars because they lack the talent to play in the senior national team.

In an astonishing assessment of the current Black Satellites team, the Dribbling Magician claims most of the players are over-aged and lack the quality to play for the Black Stars.

The Black Satellites have been described as one of the youngest squad in the tournament in Algeria with their path to the final praised by many.

But the former Ghanaian international claims none of the players are good enough to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Andre Ayew, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Samuel Inkoom to progress into the senior national team.

“If you look at our players, majority of them are playing at the premiership level and if you look at the age that they are talking about whether it goes with them is my only problem,” Polo told Radio XYZ.

“If we have players playing at the premiership level for Under-20, and they can’t make it to the top just like Dede Ayew, Agyemang Badu and others then we are not doing anything good to our football.

“But I don’t think any of them can do that.”

The Black Satellites are through to the finals of the tournament and will battle Egypt in Saturday’s final.
