Ghana legend Mohammed Polo says the current crop of Black Stars players are full of disrespect.
Numerous suggestions have come up as ways to improving the national team following Ghana’s disappointing finish at the 2012 Nations Cup earlier this year.
And Polo who a few months back expressed interest in becoming Black Stars coach says it will be necessary to disband and rebuild the whole squad in order to achieve success.
“To me I prefer a whole new team is raised afresh because the current crop are just disrespectful,†he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
“They don’t respect because they have money and this is very bad.
“It is good to have players with egos but these ones are just disrespectful.
“For instance substituted players get angry because they are coming off. The way they even dress is not good.
“Today you hear a player is at a night club or having multiple relationships with women and the like.
“There are players better than them in the system but we have been unable to unearth them.
“When I had my money I built a mosque not a hotel or a night club for people to propagate evil deeds.
“We played better football in our time but this generation have been more luckier otherwise whatever kind of football they played at the World Cup and the like had already been played by some of us and even better.â€
The Black Stars team is set to reconvene for two 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia in June.
