Montreal Impact star Drogba: MLS more difficult than Premier League

Didier Drogba suggests competing in Major League Soccer is as challenging as the English Premier League. The Montreal Impact superstar joined the North American top flight in July this year after completing his second spell at Chelsea where he sits firmly as a club legend.

The 37-year-old Ivory Coast striker, who scored 12 goals in 14 regular season appearances for the Impact in the second half of 2015, spent many a year in the Premier League cauldron but told Reuters that MLS provides just as many challenges, if not more, than the English top flight.

"It's a different challenge (in the US)," Drogba said.

"People think it's easy to play there. Believe me, it's more difficult than playing in the Premier League because of the travel."

Drogue also suggested that MLS will soon become one of world football's strongest competitions.

"I think it's going to be one of the most important and decisive leagues in the world in a few years," he added.
