Morata's reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo 'stealing' his goal

Published on: 03 December 2020

Alvaro Morata looked set to give Juventus a two-goal advantage in their Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev, before Cristiano Ronaldo was on hand to make extra sure of the ball going into the net, with some accusing the Portuguese star of 'stealing' the Spaniard's strike.

Yet the on-loan striker expressed no hard feelings for Ronaldo's action, instead praising the former Real Madrid superstar for reaching 750 career goals.

"You can only watch and learn from him," Morata said of Ronaldo after the game. "Other players would need 20 careers in order to achieve the same."

Despite the controversy surrounding the second goal of the night, Morata was still able to get on the scoresheet as he netted for 3-0 on 66 minutes, just nine minutes after Ronaldo 'robbed' him of his earlier goal-bound effort.

The win moved Juventus up to 12 points in second place, eleven points ahead of both Dynamo and Ferencvaros who are third and fourth respectively.

The Old Lady will face Barcelona, who are top with 15 points, and only a win by three goals or by a two-goal margin of 3-1 or higher will be enough for the Italians to finish top on the head-to-head rule.
