Moratti evasive on Inter future

Published on: 23 April 2016

With the future of current president Erick Thohir in doubt, Massimo Moratti has not ruled out returning as president of Inter.

The former Nerazzurri owner stood down in 2013 but has since been named the club’s honorary president and still has a big role at the club which has been in talks with Suning Group over new investment.

“In relation to my own position at Inter, I don’t know we will happen,” Moratti told ANSA when questioned about what those talks  would mean for his own role. “Let’s see what will happen, thing will become clearer over the summer and then we can discuss it.

“I had dinner with the leaders of the Suning Group. It was all very friendly and I learned a lot about the Chinese entrepreneurs. They made a good impression and struck me as excellent people.

“However, I must say that I don’t know anything about developments in negotiations between Thohir and the Chinese with a view to investment in the club.”
