Ulaanbaatar: The Mongolian Football Federation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to promote grassroots and youth football development in the East Asian nation.

The MoU was signed by Mongolian Football Federation President Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar and Mongolian Minister of Education, Culture and Science Luvsannyam Gantumur.

The MoU is aimed at meeting the following objectives:

1. To educate coaches and physical education teachers who work in grassroots and youth football though international and domestic coaching courses.

2. To improve the opportunity to play football at youth and grassroots level by improving football infrastructure.

3. To enhance and increase the number of football competitions.

It is hoped that the MoU would greatly encourage the participation of youths in football in line with Mongolian Decree No. 144 which gives directions to the government to intensify the development of team sports, establish a basis for preparing world-class teams and athletes, to establish infrastructure according to global standards for organising regional and international sport competitions and to found a specialist academy to train team sport athletes.
