Kennedy Ashia and Richard Mpong have departed to Iraq to begin training with Kurdistan Division 1 League side Darbandikhan Sports Club.

Last week, GHANASoccernet.com exclusively reported that the pair have put pen to paper on a one-year deal apiece after agreeing personal terms with the club.

The pair left the shores of the country on Sunday afternoon to begin their new adventure.

Ashia was a member of the Ghana Under-20 national team during the qualification rounds for the 2013 African U-20 Championship.

Mpong meanwhile was part of the Ghana national football team squad that finished runner-up at the 2014 African Nations Championship.

He was an instrumental figure for Elmina Sharks during the truncated 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
