AshantiGold are through to the MTN FA Cup quarter-finals at the expense of Aduana Stars following a thrilling clash in Dormaa.

The Obuasi-based club won 4-2 to join big boys Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Medeama in the last eight of the competition.

Ashgold took the lead when youngster Gordon Brokelyn scored after just seven minutes before two quick goals from Mark Agyekum and David Abagna minutes after halftime break gave the Miners a resounding lead.

Aduana pulled one back but Agyekum got his brace to extend the lead before the final goal of the game was scored by Emmanuel Baffour for the home side.

The result puts Ashgold in the next round of the MTN FA Cup while Aduana Stars would have to channel their energy in the last two games of the Ghana Premier League to try and secure a top-four place.
