Defending champions Hearts of Oak progressed to the round of 16 of this season's MTN FA Cup on Wednesday with a comprehensive win over Golden Kicks FC.
The obvious star performer was midfielder Ibrahim Salifu who assisted four of Hearts of Oak's goals in the entertaining match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
While they have been disappointing in their Ghana Premier League defence, the Phobians are cruising in the cup competition and are heavy favourites to lift the trophy with Kotoko already knocked out.
Kofi kordzi, who scored a brace last weekend in the 4-1 win over Eleven Wonders last Sunday, opened the scoring after just five minutes.
Daniel Barnieh doubled the lead before the second-tier side pulled a goal back. However, James Sewornu ensured Hearts went into the break with a two-goal advantage as he netted the third on the stroke of halftime.
Golden Kicks played with confidence after the break and got their reward as they scored again on 66 minutes.
However, their goal prompted Hearts to sit up. Kwadwo Obeng Jr and Seidu Suraj netted inside the final 10 minutes to seal victory for the Phobians.
