Murray waits on shoulder scan

Published on: 05 December 2018

Brighton striker Glenn Murray hopes the shoulder injury he suffered against Crystal Palace on Tuesday will not rule him out of Saturday's game at Burnley.

The Seagulls' top scorer had to have an X-ray after being substituted during the first half of the clash at the Amex Stadium.

Murray said after the match: "I fell and hurt my AC joint. Right now it's sore but hopefully it will settle down and we will make a decision on Wednesday or Thursday.

"The physios are withholding their judgement so we will see what it's like when it has cooled down."

Murray, who had opened the scoring from the penalty spot against his former club, added: "It's just about trying to keep calm in that moment and hit the back of the net."

Meanwhile, Albion boss Chris Hughton revealed after the game that Jose Izquierdo is also a doubt for the weekend trip to Turf Moor.

He said of the Colombian: "Izquierdo's injury got worse as the game went on - we certainly didn't want to make our last substitution that early in the second half, particularly knowing we'd be up against an onslaught.

"We've got good competition at the moment - what everybody knows is that if they want to be playing, they've got to be playing at a level that's going to keep them in the team."

Shane Duffy will definitely miss the match against Burnley after he was sent off during Tuesday's encounter.

Brighton are 13/8 to beat the Clarets and 9/1 to win the match from behind.
