Ghana youth star Yaw Yeboah has revealed that his father didn't really support his idea of becoming a footballer when he started.

The new Wisla Krakow signing disclosed he gained the support of his family after he earned a call up to the youth national team.

The former Ghana U-20 captain, whose father is a captain, had wanted him to go to school but later earned the blessing of his dad to pursue a career that has seen him play for English giants Manchester City.

"Yes definitely. I stay in touch with them all the time, call them every day and tell me how I feel in my new country and club. My family lives in a small village in Ghana,"he said.

'Dad is indeed a pastor, also a teacher. Maybe he wasn't in favor of me playing football from the beginning, because my family preferred me to study, but when I started playing for Ghana's youth national team, when it got loud in the country, my whole family was proud and very supportive," he added.

"Including for them I can't stop, I have to work hard every day to become a better player."

Yeboah joined the Polish giants on a three year deal from Spanish outfit Numancia in the summer transfer window.
