Nations FC coach, Kassim Ocansey Mingle, says his players were determined and motivated to beat Asante Kotoko.
The Abrankese-based side deepened the woes of the Porcupine Warriors with a 2-0 win at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in the Matchday 28 games on Sunday.
Nafiu Sulemana opened the scoring account with a beauty in the 15th minute before Emmanuel Annor doubled the lead at the stroke of half-time to wrap up the win.
Speaking after the game, the experienced gaffer revealed what he told his players ahead of the game and added they approached the game to snatch all three points
"We came with our game plan to get the goals, and it worked to perfection," Mingle said.
"I told my players they will have to win this game if they want to be title contenders. So they were all motivated, and they all played their role well.
"We came to play and win, that was our strategy coming into the game," he added.
Nations FC remain in the second position with 51 points and will travel to Berekum Chelsea in the Matchday 29 games at the Golden City Park next weekend.
