Górnik Zabrze new signing Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is aiming to make an impact at the Polish side after joining them on a short-term contract.

The former Red Star Belgrade striker joined the Polish top-flight side as a free agent on Tuesday.

Boakye-Yiadom who left Red Star Belgrade as a legend as one of the foreign players to score more goals for the Serbian giants hopes to emulate same record with Górnik Zabrze.

The 27-year old has set his sight on helping the club reach higher heights and is eyeing a place in the club's history.

''My target and ambition is to leave [here] with a mark and name that would make people remember that a player came here from Ghana and played in Górnik Zabrze and was amazing. So, this is actually my target for now as a new player in Poland,'' Boakye said in an interview with the club's Youtube Channel.

Boakye-Yiadom was also asked about Polish Superstar Lewandoski and his encounter with him on the field in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

''I have played against Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski in the Champions League as I always say he is one of my favourite strikers. So he was good and I like the way he plays and scores too. Again, I would say it was amazing to be on the field with Lewandowski,'' he recounted.

Boakye-Yiadom scored 60 goals for Red Star Belgrade in over 104 appearances for the club.

He has previously had stints with Genoa, Sassuolo, Juventus, Red Star Belgrade, Atalanta, RC Joda and Elche.
