Nacho: At home we fight the virus forcefully

Published on: 26 January 2021

Not only will Real Madrid be without coach Zinedine Zidane as he isolates after contracting the Coronavirus, Nacho Fernandez will also undergo a period of isolation after his own positive test, to which he responded by suggesting he would fight back against the infection at home.

Whilst not a guaranteed starter for Los Blancos, Nacho has been an ever-present utility man over the past few seasons, and his absence will be felt.

"Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID, but I'm at home and fighting it forcefully," Nacho posted on his official Instagram page.

"Thank you for all your support. Don't lower your guard."

This was Nacho's second positive test result, meaning the infection is not yet out of his system, and after missing the Copa del Rey humiliation to Alcoyano and a LaLiga Santander clash with Alaves, he is also set to miss Saturday's home fixture against Levante.
