Nainggolan: Roma will need a miracle to defeat Real Madrid

Roma’s Radja Nainggolan has admitted that they will need a miracle if they are to overcome Real Madrid and progress to the next round of the Champions League.

The Giallorossi are currently preparing for their first leg at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, although the Belgium international is fairly pessimistic about the Lupi’s potential chances in Europe.

“It is useless to try to hide it,” said Nainggolan to Marca. “We know that we will need a miracle if we are to progress to the next round and obtain qualification for the quarter finals.”

In terms of the forthcoming opposition, the 27-year-old has singled out Cristiano Ronaldo for specific praise, claiming that he would love for the Portugal international to possibly join him in Rome, as he is a player who can make the difference on the field.

“He is an exceptional player,” he added. “And one that can make the difference between Real Madrid and other teams.

“If there is a day when they no longer want him, then I would like to see him play with us and see what could happen.”
