Fortuna Dusseldorf left-back Niko Gießelmann is confident Ghanaian midfielder Nana Opoku Ampomah will come good in the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old struggled to find his feet in the first half. He made just six appearances in the Bundesliga as Dusseldorf find themselves in the relegation zone.
“At the end of the second half of the season, Nana saw that he was taking steps forward. In the end, these can be players who are decisive for us," he said.
"He is very eager to learn. That it didn't work out so well in the first half of the year also worried him."
"Nana has the quality. It's easier if I have one in front of me that puts pressure on the opposing full-backs. It is always important that you have someone in front of you who understands you, who knows what the interaction must be like."
Ampomah arrived at Fortuna from Belgium side Waasland-Beveren in July 2019.
