Nania FC owner Abedi Pele has revealed he snubbed overtures from giants Asante Kotoko for influential midfielder Prince Baffoe.

The Porcupine Warriors were keen to add the youngster to their squad this season following his riveting performances in the MTN FA Cup.

Baffoe, who was a key member of the Ghana squad that clinched gold at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, impressed in Sunday's Super Cup triumph over Berekum Chelsea.

Pele, who doubles as head coach of the side, disclosed Kotko were eager to sign his precious midfielder.

''The Executive Director spoke to me extensively about him (Baffoe) because they seriously needed him for this season in the league,'' Pele admitted.

''But I told him, we were going to play Africa and therefore we were not going to release him to them or any other club.

''Indeed it became our policy not to release any player this season when we won the FA Cup because they will play a key part for us in our quest to cause an upset in the Confederation Cup.''
