NAPOLI - 5 clubs might get back tracking VERDI

Published on: 20 February 2019

After his agent, Donato Orgnoni, clarified Italian international winger Simone Verdi (26) is deemed an asset by Napoli, which signed him last summer, on a 5-year deal, from Bologna, Italian source Corriere dello Sport disclosed five of the clubs getting in touch with Azzurri during last January, in order to get former Empoli player as a loanee: from Italy, AC Milan, Torino (both teams he used to play for as well), and Bologna themselves, plus Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart from Germany. Verdi is unlikely to be put up for sale next summer, mainly for two reasons: though not having been lined up much, so far, by Carlo Ancelotti, he proved himself a valuable backup, and, most of all, Serie A giants are unlikely to get back the 25 million euros they invested in signing him last July.
