Napoli are close to securing the transfer of Real Madrid defender Nacho.
The 26-year-old centre-back had also attracted interest from Premier League giants Arsenal during this current transfer window, but looks set to seal a move to Naples after a big development.
CalcioNews24 report that Maurizio Sarri’s team have agreed a contract with the player ahead of the move.
What’s left in the deal is an agreement on the transfer fee itself, which could prove a challenge considering new Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane’s reluctance to sell the centre half.
Nacho would provide some extra depth to Napoli’s defence as they mount their biggest Serie A title challenge in recent memory, with the Spaniard having made 14 appearances already so far this season for Madrid.
The 26-year-old is a two-time Spain international, and made an appearance last year for the national team.
