Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri was satisfied with his team’s performance following a 3-1 victory against Genoa.

The Partenopei were pushed on by the Stadio San Paolo crowd and grew in confidence as the match wore on, scoring all three goals in the second half.

“We are pleased to put in a good performance for our fans who provide a spectacular atmosphere inside of the stadium,” Sarri said to reporters.

“We played against a confident team who have been performing admirably.

“In the first half we were a bit nervous but we had a great second half as we really wanted to win the match.

“The team defended well for the most part, although we were sloppy on a couple of occasions.”

The victory keeps Napoli within three points of league-leaders Juventus but the former Empoli coach is keeping an even keel in regards to his side’s Scudetto chances.

“We will continue to take things game by game and we want to continue winning for our supporters,” Sarri noted.

“At the top of the table lies a team which has taken 58 points from a possible 60, the fact that we are just three points back makes us happy.”
