Napoli improve offer for Inter captain

Napoli have improved their offer for Inter striker Mauro Icardi as the former prepares to part ways with star striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Having had their first offer of €40 million refused, the Partenopei have launched a fresh offer in an attempt to persuade the Nerazzurri into selling their star player.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has raised his offer from €40m to €45m plus bonuses which could total to around €50m, whilst offering Icardi €6.5m per season plus €3m for image rights.

De Laurentiis met with the Inter captain’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, in a meeting which lasted almost four hours to discuss a possible move, despite Inter branding the player as unsellable in recent days.

Last season, Icardi made 33 appearances in Serie A, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists for the Stadio Meazza outfit.
