Napoli reject Wolfsburg bid for striker

German side Wolfsburg have reportedly failed in their attempts to try and entice Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini to the Bundesliga.

It has been reported that the Partenopei have rejected a bid of €25 million for the Italian, insisting that they view the player as indispensable for their Serie A title challenge and will refuse to sell him at any cost.

Sky Sport Italia have reported that Wolfsburg were willing to offer Gabbiadini a five-year contract at the Volkswagen arena, which would have been worth around €2.5 million per season.

However, Maurizio Sarri’s side have taken the same approach as they did with Premier League club Swansea City, and expressed their reluctance to let the player leave the Stadio San Paolo.

Despite making nine Serie A appearances this season, the ex-Sampdoria man has yet to cement a first-team place in Sarri’s opening XI, and has started only one domestic game.
