Oil marketing firm Nasona say they are yet to finalize a sponsorship deal with promoted Ghana Premier League side Techiman City FC.

Last December, the club announced securing a US$ 35,000 for two years deal.

But it has been revealed there was nothing concrete between the two parties and the recent Ethic Committee ruling demoting the club to the third-tier for bribery and match-fixing

“Our negotiations with Techiman City was based on a team going to play in the premier league, but the FA has demoted them to even Division two not one,” Nasona Oil Managing Director Alhaji Abuba Shaibu is quoted by sportscrusader.com

“If you’re a business man, will you sign a deal with such a club? The sponsorship agreement with Techiman City like I told you in our last conversation, will only be done if they play in the premier league.”

Techiman City FC say they have appealed their demotion and filed for a stay of execution if when granted will see them compete in the top-flight.

The club open their league campaign against Berekum Chelsea at home on 21 February.
