Ghana Premier League leading scorer Nathaniel Asamoah has expressed shock at his exclusion from the final 23-man squad for next month's CHAN tournament.
The 20-year-old has raked in nine goals in 19 league matches playing for All Stars and Asante Kotoko.
"I was surprise that I didn't receive a call but every coach has his strategy and tactics and I respect that. Maybe the coach chose the players who fit into his game plan but I was shocked to be out anyway," Asamoah told GHANAsoccernet.com
He was a member of the Ghana Under-17 squad that won silver at the 2007 African Championship in Togo.
Asamoah has however been named in the local 30-man squad for national Under-23 team.
