Ndidi on course to face Wolves

Published on: 10 August 2019

Wilfred Ndidi is set to feature in Leicester City's Premier League encounter against Wolves on Sunday following his exploits at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 22-year-old starred for Nigeria over the summer before the Super Eagles were beaten by Algeria in the semi-finals.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has also revealed that Filip Benkovic is now fully-fit and available to face Wolves, who were involved in the Europa League on Thursday.

Rodgers said of the duo: "I think both those players have been working very well since they've come back. Wilf is someone who hasn't been out for that long.

"He's been away in the Africa [Cup of] Nations, of course, and was off for just under three weeks. He's a naturally fit guy and he'll be in the squad for the weekend.

"Filip, it was just a case of building his fitness up. All the players have come through pre-season really, really well.

"We've got no real injury worries. We've got one or two little niggles that go back to pre-season, but other than that, we've got a really strong squad and we're all prepared and ready."

New signing Dennis Praet is also set to play in the match which Leicester can be backed at 5/4 to win. The Foxes are currently available at 7/2 to finish in the Premier League's top six this season.
