Hearts of Oak Board Member Frank Nelson is full of confidence ahead of the weekend’s epic Premier League clash with Asante Kotoko.

The two most glamourous sides take to the field on Sunday in the big Ghanaian derby at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi where Hearts have had relative dominance over their hosts.

And Nelson says the outcome will be no different on Sunday despite the impressive form of Kotoko this season.

“For Hearts and Kotoko, everyone will tell you it is not about the number of players,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Sometimes you can play with nine men and win like we did before and can also play with eleven players and you don’t achieve results.

“So it is not the form, it is the motivation, it is the spirit of the boys, how you psych them up. That is what they believe in.

“And for us the good thing is that we are going to Kumasi, we always say Kumasi is a good ground for us because we have been getting the wins there and this game will be no exception.

“We are going to Kumasi to make sure we get the three maximum points and that is what the boys have been training for and that is exactly what we will be doing come April 15.”

Nelsons’ stance is enforced by what he has seen at the training grounds and says coupled with the team’s good record in Kumasi when playing Kotoko, victory is a certainty.

“Like I said Kumasi is like our home ground, as soon as we arrive there will be panic in Kumasi.

“Because I know a lot of people would like to know what Hearts is bringing and good enough again if we are not in form and Kotoko think they are on top, that is where we do the damage.

“I have seen the training, I haven’t seen the Kotoko training so someone will say it is a one-sided judgement but that is not what I am looking at.

“I have seen the training and seen the motivation and determination from the boys who have told some of us and have assured to deliver victory and I believe them.”
