New boy Emmanuel Hayford bags brace to give Hearts win
Emmanuel Hayford scored a double.

Hearts of Oak opened their 2013/14 season with a 2-0 victory over New Edubiase United in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

New signing Emmanuel Hayford scored twice in the second half to claim victory for the Phobians at the Gyamfi's Park in Bekwai.

The playmaker, signed from Amidaus Professionals, scored with a wonder strike ten minutes after the break before he wrapped up the win for Hearts with a well-taken free-kick.

The first-half was marred for Hearts as a fan rushed on David Duncan at the touch line and question him about his approach for the game.

Duncan responded in an equally furious manner and the two had to be separated.

After the break, Romeo Agban and Kenneth Okoro were introduced and Hearts changed the texture of the game.

Hayford stroke with fine finish before he finished the business with a Beckham style free-kick from the edge of the area.
