Asante Kotoko new head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed his delight following his appointment to lead the Ghanaian giants for the next two years insisting he wants to make the Kumasi-based club one of the giants of African football again.

Dr. Ogum was announced as the Kotoko's trainer on Saturday as he replaces Portuguese Mariano Barreto Jeronimo who left the club on a mutual termination.

Barreto guided the Porcupine Warriors to a second place after taking over from Maxwell Konadu who was sacked in December 2020.

Dr. Ogum took to his Twitter page to show his excitement for landing the Kotoko top job.

"I am awfully grateful for this opportunity to serve such a great club Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Thanks to HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board, Management and Supporters for reposing trust in me," wrote on his page.

More so, the Sports Psychologist and Lecturer also insisted on making the Fabulous club the best in Ghana and in Africa.

"I will do my best to make Kotoko the best club in Ghana, Africa and the world." Dr. Ogum added.

The 43-year-old was in charge of the WAFA SC in the Ghana Premier League last season guiding them to a 3rd place position in the end.
