The 2020/21 football season in Ghana will start on 30 October, 2020, president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced.
The top divisions (Ghana Premier League and Division One League) will start at the end of the month.
The leagues were suspended in March due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequently the season declared null and void.
''With respect to football, after due consultations with the Ghana Football Association, it has been decided that the Ghana Premier League and the Division One Football League will restart on Friday, 30th October, with a full regime of testing of the players, technical and management staff,'' he said.
Clubs are expected to return to training this week and prepare for the campaign.
This will help Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold in the preparations for next season's CAF inter-clubs competitions.
