The Ghanaian champions were beaten 2-0 in the first of two games between the two clubs this week.

Boadu, who was named the club's captain on Tuesday, led the club for the first time and expressed how proud he was of the team.

"Having a mission or a vision for your life is one of the best things you can do for your mental wellness. Am very proud of you guys. We focus on the next games. Asante Kotoko," he posted on Twitter.

Hilal scored in each half to defeat Kotoko, who are in Sudan preparing for the 2022/23 season.

In the 42nd minute, Senegalese youngster Lamine Jarjou scored for Al Hilal, giving the Blue Jewels a 1-0 lead.

Khater Awad's goal in the 88th minute sealed Al Hilal's victory over the Porcupine Warriors.
